What causes snoring?

The cause of snoring is not always the same for everyone, it can be linked to the structure of your nose, obstruction caused by a broken nose, deviated septum, nasal obstruction or blockages from allergies and colds.

Some people snore due to particular medication, after a few drinks or while pregnant.

Snoring is a sign that the airway is compromised to some degree which can mean air is not getting where it needs to go for healthy breathing and oxygenation during sleep.

Try Mute to see if it can help you to Breathe More, Snore Less and Sleep Better.

What is Mute?

Think of Mute as the first line of defence against snoring and sleep disruption. It’s an over-the-counter snoring remedy — a small, comfortable, soft, adjustable device made of polymers that sit inside your nose, increasing airflow and improving breathing.

Mute is designed to gently open up the airways, allowing snorers to breathe more easily through their nose and keep their mouth closed during sleep. In trials, 73% of couples reported a reduction in the frequency and volume of snoring and found it more effective than other products**.

The technology behind Mute increases airflow on average by 38%*, which may alleviate nasal congestion, another critical factor to a reduction in snoring and a better quality of sleep. With 75% of users reporting they snored less and 58% said their snoring stopped completely whilst using Mute**.
